TYPOGRAPHIC WRITING
BOOK REDESIGN
BACKGROUND:
Redesign 2001 book Typographic Writing edited by David Jury and published by the ISTD. The challenge was to make it address a more youthful design audience and make it more modern.
SOLUTION:
A publication with minimal layout and features that fit more current design trends. The aim was to make it more readable, aesthetically pleasing and more appealing to a younger audience.
FRONT COVER

To represent writing and type I went with a theme of lines. I also avoided using any illustrative imagery as I wanted it to exclusively be a typographic book. The fonts used were Open sans and Fira sans. These fonts were chosen to bring an element minimalism and modernity.

Incorporates all the colours within the book which represent each chapter. The colours are chosen to fit the current design trends, Pantone colours. Youthful and approachable.

MAIN PAGES
I chose a minimal layout as I felt minimalism is a contemporary aesthetic. Incorporate the theme of lines in the names and on the page.
